GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION TRIBUNAL UPDATE: NSIMA VS UDOM.

The Governorship election petitionTribunal which Obong Nsima Ekere, the APC governorship Candidate is challenging the declaration of Udom Emmanuel, the PDP governorship candidate by INEC, as the winner of March 09, 2019 governorship Election, resumed on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 for the commencement of the actual hearing.
In corroberation to the above, petitioner’s lead Counsel, J. S. Okutekpa lined up six witnesses to affirm their despositions thus:
The first Petitioner’s witness (PW1). Mr Efiong Bassey Etim, APC Agent from Ikot Akpabio in Nsit Atai deposed on oath that he was brutally beaten by the pdp thugs to the point of stupor in the said election: compounded with injuries which had even affected his sense of hearing, thereafter, PDP hijacked everything away. He queried why such manipulated results should be attributed to ‘Only God’ who beholds no iniquity?
His testimony was supported with the Medical Report.
The PW2: Dr Ita Udosen, APC State Deputy Chairman, testified on oath that there was no election in his unit in Ibesikpo Asutan. Mentioning that the election materials were carted away.
PW3: Mr. Emmanuel Atakpo, APC Agent for Ibesikpo Asutan, from Ikot Obiokan also testifying under oath, informed the Tribunal that there was no election there. That Everything was manipulated by PDP.
PW4: Abasiono Udousoroh from Unit 7, Ikot Obio Ekpe, Ward 7, Ukanafun LGA, APC LGA Agent for
Ukanafun from Ikot Mbak said that there was no governorship election in Ukanafun.
PW5: Dr. Effiong Etok, APC Agent, Ibiono Ibom LGA, affirmed on oath that the election materials were carted away by PDP thugs and there was no election in entire 161 polling units in the LGA.
He confirmed the killing of APC Agent in that LGA by PDP thugs.
PW6: Engr. Akanimo Edet, APC Agent for Etim Ekpo comfirmed that there was no election in his LGA.
Despite all the questions put to the six witnesses during cross Examination by the counsels to first, second and third respondents they remained unwavering and affrmed that there was no election.
