The recent recent removal of the Chief operating officer of the gas and power department faulting it as a step taken in bad light, going by how the COO Engr Yusuf Usman has expanded the scope of making gas and sustainable in the near future particularly the current gas and power projects going on.
In a combine response press conference attended by notable Northern commentators, the North West attaché of AYPAS, Nafisatu Ibraheem emphasized that the GMD Engr. Mele Kyari acted against competence as Usman’s successor lacks the experience professionalism, competence and capability to oversee the affairs of the office as it requires knowledge on the job.
“These are some of the factors affecting the smooth achievement of enough and affordable gas in the country. Presently,the Country is moving on in the area of meeting up gas and power challenges. The tenure of Engr. Yusuf Usman witnessed transformation that made gas and power links to even the North.’
The Chief Operating Officer during a recent interaction in a petroleum related conference emphasised that the possibility of using gas for even power and automobile is under way.
We therefore call for the immediate reversal of the decision by the GMD for national interest.At this time of redirecting the revenue generation system,when qualified professionals are under mined, then where is the appreciation for productivity.
