AAU SUG President writes letter to Ondo state Governor

Permit me to, on behalf of the students and other residents of Akungba community convey our profound doxology to you over your commendable decision to map out a dualization of the Akungba/Ikare road as a measure towards curtailing the incessant occurrences of trailer oriented accidents in the community.
Your Excellency Sir, as a representative of the overall interest of all students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko by virtue of my emergence as the Student Union President of the Institution, it has, now become incumbent on me to write you, especially as we marked a year anniversary of the demise of scores of my fellow students in courtesy of trailer mishap. I am, indeed saddened, just like I know you are over what I describe as an avoidable truncation of lives and invaluable properties to the menace of trailers on our road. Even though  today, we are a bit consoled by your intention to dualize the roads, there is still an ardent need for urgent and temporary measures to regulate the excesses of trailers, pending the starting and conclusion of the dualization.
Regrettably, just few days ago, we recorded a fatality and devastation of several valuables to the menace of excessive trailers on the road. Few weeks ago, a trailer conveying a team of cows rammed into shops in Akungba, destroying properties worth millions of naira on the spot. These are indeed few of the countless occurrences of trailer oriented mishaps on our road.
Mr Governor Sir, permit me to state, in clear terms,  that our community has become an epicenter of trailer accidents, a development which has continued to throw palpable tension on the students and other inhabitants of the community.
However, as we mournfully mark a year anniversary of the tragic incidence today and anticipate the return of our fellow students back on campus for the continuation of the 2020/2021 academic session, it is pertinent to write you to use your good office to regulate the movement of those trailers, pending the completion of the dualization in which your administration has chosen to instigate.
Your Excellency Sir, this vulnerable road posseses limited width and by this virtue become grossly busy and crowded during the day, especially periods when the university is in session. This, in addition with the reckless driving of trailer drivers on the road ferment accidents.
We cannot continue to count losses to avoidable mishaps and it is on this note, that I urge you, as the father of all students, to use your office to immediately restrain the passage of trailers on the road at daytime. The damages occasioned by the menace of trailer accidents can be avoided on our roads if these heavy duty vehicles are made to operate at midnight only.
Your Excellency Sir, I believe as a leader, who gives utmost priority to the lives of his followers, you are going to listen to the overall agitation of the students by not just abolishing but also enforcing the abolishment of the movement of those trailers in daytime. We shall, however await a positive response in that regards in no distant time.
On behalf of all students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, I commend you once again and wish you all the best as you transform the state to the next level.
Kindly accept sir, the assurances of my best regards
 *Comrade Ogunsanmi Kolade Olumide (Multiple)*
*Student Union President, Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State.*
